The Supply Chain Operations Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and cost-effective movement of goods from suppliers to customers. This role involves strategic planning, operational oversight, vendor management, logistics coordination, and continuous process improvement. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of optimizing supply chain functions to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance overall service quality.

Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain Planning & Strategy

  1. Develop and execute end-to-end supply chain strategies to support organizational goals.
  2. Forecast demand, plan inventory, and align procurement plans to meet production and customer requirements.
  3. Analyze supply chain performance and implement improvements to enhance speed, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  4. Conduct risk assessments and prepare contingency plans for disruptions, delays, or inventory shortages.

Inventory & Warehouse Management

  1. Oversee inventory levels, stock movements, replenishment cycles, and safety stock planning.
  2. Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure proper storage, handling, and timely dispatch of goods.
  3. Implement inventory control systems to reduce shrinkage, wastage, and overstock situations.
  4. Optimize warehouse layout, processes, and manpower deployment for better operations.

Logistics & Distribution

  1. Manage transportation planning, routing, and carrier selection to ensure on-time deliveries.
  2. Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics while maintaining strong relationships with logistic partners.
  3. Track shipments, monitor delivery performance, and resolve delays or transportation issues.
  4. Develop cost-effective logistics solutions while ensuring service quality.

Vendor & Supplier Management

  1. Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for materials, products, and logistics services.
  2. Ensure timely procurement of materials while maintaining quality standards.
  3. Review supplier performance, maintain service-level agreements (SLAs), and drive vendor improvement initiatives.

Operational Management

  1. Oversee day-to-day supply chain operations to ensure smooth workflow across procurement, logistics, and warehouse functions.
  2. Implement policies, SOPs, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
  3. Coordinate cross-functional communication between production, finance, sales, and quality teams.

Data & Performance Analysis

  1. Monitor KPIs such as inventory turnover, order accuracy, transportation costs, and fulfillment rates.
  2. Use data analytics to identify inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
  3. Prepare supply chain performance reports for leadership review.

Compliance, Safety & Quality

  1. Ensure regulatory compliance in packaging, transportation, warehouse safety, and material handling.
  2. Implement safety standards and training for staff.
  3. Maintain quality controls for materials and finished goods during storage and transit.

Team Leadership

  1. Supervise supply chain, logistics, warehouse, and procurement teams.
  2. Train and mentor staff, evaluate performance, and ensure accountability.
  3. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, problem-solving, and teamwork.

Required Skills & Competencies

  1. Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, logistics, procurement, and warehouse operations.
  2. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and use data effectively.
  3. Proficiency in supply chain management software (ERP, SAP, Oracle, Tally, WMS, etc.).
  4. Strong negotiation skills for vendor and supplier management.
  5. Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple operations simultaneously.
  6. Strategic thinking combined with hands-on operational execution.
  7. Strong leadership and people-management capabilities.
  8. Excellent communication skills for cross-functional coordination.
  9. Knowledge of demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and risk management.
  10. Ability to work under pressure and handle supply chain disruptions efficiently.
  11. Understanding of quality control, compliance standards, and safety regulations.
  12. Proficiency in Excel, reporting tools, and analytics dashboards.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. 8 years of experience in supply chain operations, logistics management, warehouse operations, or procurement.
  3. Experience in manufacturing, retail, FMCG, e-commerce, or distribution sectors is an added advantage.
  4. Certifications such as CSCP, CPIM, CPM, or Six Sigma are highly beneficial.
  5. Proven track record of optimizing supply chain processes and managing complex operations.

120,000 - 160,000 INR
