The Operations Analyst plays a vital role in improving organizational efficiency, evaluating internal processes, and supporting data-driven decision-making. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical capability, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work across departments to streamline operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and capable of identifying gaps, optimizing workflows, and enhancing productivity through accurate reporting and insights.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Analysis & Reporting

  1. Analyze existing business processes, workflows, and operational performance to identify improvement opportunities.
  2. Develop, monitor, and maintain performance dashboards, operational reports, and analytical models.
  3. Evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights to management teams.

Process Improvement

  1. Recommend process enhancements to increase efficiency, reduce operational bottlenecks, and improve service delivery.
  2. Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement new procedures, policies, and best practices.
  3. Document workflows, SOPs, and process maps for organizational clarity and compliance.

Data Management

  1. Collect, clean, and interpret large data sets from various systems, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  2. Conduct trend analysis, forecast operational requirements, and prepare data-driven presentations.
  3. Support automation efforts and system integrations to streamline operations.

Project Coordination

  1. Assist in planning and executing operational projects, ensuring timelines and goals are met.
  2. Track project progress, identify risks, and escalate issues for timely resolution.
  3. Coordinate with IT, finance, HR, and other departments for cross-functional initiatives.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  1. Ensure operations align with organizational policies, industry standards, and compliance guidelines.
  2. Conduct internal audits and quality checks to maintain process reliability.
  3. Suggest corrective actions for identified gaps or inefficiencies.

Stakeholder Communication

  1. Collaborate with managers, department heads, and team members to gather requirements and present analytical findings.
  2. Provide regular updates to leadership on performance, challenges, and improvement opportunities.
  3. Support training sessions and change management efforts for new processes.

Required Skills & Competencies

Analytical & Technical Skills

  1. Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
  2. Proficiency in Excel (advanced), spreadsheets, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau preferred).
  3. Good understanding of data analysis techniques, forecasting models, and KPI tracking.

Operational Knowledge

  1. Ability to understand and evaluate business workflows and processes.
  2. Knowledge of operational efficiency techniques such as Lean, Six Sigma, or process optimization (added advantage).

Communication & Collaboration

  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  2. Ability to present complex data in a simple, understandable manner.
  3. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Problem-Solving & Decision-Making

  1. Aptitude for identifying operational bottlenecks and developing effective solutions.

  3. Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Technical Tools Proficiency

  1. Experience with ERP systems, CRM tools, or operational software (SAP, Oracle, Zoho, etc., preferred).
  2. Basic knowledge of SQL or databases is an added benefit.
  3. Ability to create automated reports and dashboards.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Data Analytics, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. 1–5 years of experience in operations analysis, business analysis, data analysis, or similar roles.
  3. Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, Business Analysis, or Data Analytics will be a strong advantage.
  4. Proven experience in handling data sets, preparing reports, and supporting process improvement projects.
  5. Experience working in corporate operations, finance, logistics, education, or service sectors is beneficial.
