Role Purpose

The role is responsible for leading the Human Resources function of the hospital, ensuring effective manpower planning, strong employee relations, statutory compliance, and development of a high-performance, patient-centric organizational culture aligned with healthcare quality standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

HR Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with hospital objectives
  • Act as a strategic partner in workforce planning and organization development
  • Build a patient-centric and service-oriented culture

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Plan and execute manpower requirements for clinical and non-clinical roles
  • Ensure timely hiring with focus on quality and retention
  • Strengthen employer branding and talent attraction initiatives

Statutory Compliance & Labour Laws

  • Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and new labour codes
  • Manage statutory audits, inspections, and government liaison
  • Maintain statutory records and documentation

Employee Relations

  • Establish grievance redressal mechanisms
  • Handle disciplinary cases, domestic enquiries, and conflict resolution
  • Promote a harmonious work environment

Performance Management System

  • Design and implement PMS for all staff categories
  • Drive goal setting, performance reviews, and feedback culture
  • Link performance with rewards, training, and career development

Compensation & Benefits

  • Design salary structures aligned with labour laws and market benchmarks
  • Oversee payroll accuracy and statutory compliance
  • Manage employee benefits including insurance, gratuity, and welfare schemes.

Training & Development

  • Identify training needs across clinical and non-clinical teams
  • Drive leadership and capability development programs
  • Promote a continuous learning culture

HR Operations & Systems

  • Manage end-to-end HR operations (onboarding, attendance, payroll, exit formalities)
  • Implement HRMS and digitization initiatives
  • Ensure smooth full & final settlements

Accreditation & Quality Support

  • Support NABH accreditation requirements
  • Align HR policies with quality standards
  • Participate in audits and improvement initiatives.

Culture & Employee Engagement

  • Build a culture of accountability, compassion, and teamwork
  • Conduct employee engagement initiatives and surveys
  • Promote ethical and disciplined workplace practices

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict management skills
  • Knowledge of labour laws, compliance, and statutory regulations
  • Proficiency in MS Office and HRMS systems
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and decision-making ability
  • High integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail
  • Fluent in English and Kannada
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic healthcare environment.

Educational Qualifications

  • MBA / MSW in Human Resources or related specialization

Experience Requirements

  • 10–12 years of HR experience
  • 3–4 years in healthcare industry preferred
  • Strong knowledge of hospital HR systems, labour laws, and NABH requirements
  • Experience in handling HR operations, employee relations, and compliance
  • Exposure to legal cases and HR governance preferred.

Additional Knowledge (Preferred)

  • Hospital labour law frameworks and labour models
  • NABH accreditation standards
  • HR policies, systems, and best practices
  • Experience in handling statutory and legal matters
