Generative AI Engineer

The Generative AI Engineer at Infosys is responsible for assisting in the design, development, and deployment of AI-powered solutions using Large Language Models (LLMs), machine learning, and deep learning techniques.
The role focuses on building intelligent systems such as chatbots, AI assistants, content generators, and automation tools that support enterprise and client solutions across industries.
 

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist in developing, training, fine-tuning, and evaluating Generative AI models including LLMs and transformer-based architectures.
2. Support prompt engineering, prompt optimization, and testing for text, code, and data-driven use cases.
3. Work on data preparation tasks such as cleaning, annotation, preprocessing, and validation.
4. Help build AI-driven applications like chatbots, virtual assistants, document analyzers, and automation workflows.
5. Perform experiments, model benchmarking, and quality validation of AI outputs.
6. Document model behavior, results, and improvement areas.
7. Collaborate with software engineers, product teams, and domain experts to integrate AI features into enterprise applications.
8. Follow Infosys AI governance, ethics, and data security guidelines.

Required Skills & Knowledge

1. Basic understanding of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and NLP concepts.
2. Proficiency in Python programming.
3. Familiarity with ML/AI libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, PyTorch or TensorFlow.
4. Exposure to Large Language Models (LLMs), transformers, embeddings, and API-based AI tools.
5. Understanding of prompt engineering fundamentals.
6. Basic knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and model evaluation metrics.
7. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and logical reasoning skills.
