The Finance Analyst – Assistant Manager plays a key role in supporting financial planning, analysis, reporting, and decision-making functions within the organization. This role involves interpreting financial data, preparing accurate reports, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial standards. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of providing strategic insights that strengthen financial performance and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Analysis & Reporting

  1. Analyze financial data, trends, and performance metrics to support strategic decision-making.
  2. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management.
  3. Conduct variance analysis against budgets, forecasts, and previous performance.
  4. Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  1. Support the budgeting process by collecting data, preparing financial models, and coordinating with departments.
  2. Assist in developing financial forecasts, projections, and long-term business plans.
  3. Monitor budget performance and provide recommendations for improvements or corrections.

Financial Controls & Compliance

  1. Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
  2. Assist in internal and external audit processes by preparing documentation and responding to queries.
  3. Track expenditures and ensure proper allocation of financial resources.

Business Support & Decision-Making

  1. Provide financial insights to operational teams to enhance efficiency and cost control.
  2. Conduct profitability analysis, cost-benefit studies, and financial feasibility assessments.
  3. Support investment decisions by preparing financial models, ROI calculations, and sensitivity analyses.
  4. Participate in cross-functional meetings to provide financial guidance and strategic support.

Process Improvement & Automation

  1. Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve workflow efficiency.
  2. Support the implementation of financial tools, analytics, and software for enhanced reporting.
  3. Maintain accurate financial databases and documentation for easy retrieval and compliance.

Team Leadership & Coordination

  1. Support the Finance Manager by mentoring junior analysts and coordinating team activities.
  2. Assist in training teams on financial procedures and best practices.
  3. Ensure timely completion of tasks by guiding team members and monitoring deadlines.

 

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

  1. Strong knowledge of accounting principles such as GAAP / Ind AS.
  2. Advanced proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Financial Modelling).
  3. Experience with financial software such as Tally, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or ERP platforms.
  4. Ability to create financial dashboards and automated reporting templates.
  5. Analytical skills to interpret complex financial data and present insights clearly.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  2. Professional certifications such as CMA, CA-Inter, MBA Finance, ACCA, CFA (Level 1) are highly desirable.
  3. 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, budgeting, or similar finance roles.
  4. Experience in corporate finance, audit, banking, or business analytics is an added advantage.
  5. Strong portfolio of experience in financial reporting, MIS, forecasting, and data-driven insights.
