The Finance Analyst Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and reporting activities within the organization. This role requires strong analytical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to translate financial data into strategic insights. The ideal candidate will guide the finance team, ensure accuracy in financial operations, and support senior management in informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Analysis & Reporting

  1. Lead the preparation of financial reports, dashboards, forecasts, and analytical models.
  2. Analyze financial performance by monitoring key metrics such as revenue, expenses, profitability, and variances.
  3. Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to improve financial efficiency and organizational performance.
  4. Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities and ensure accuracy in reporting.
  5. Evaluate financial risks, identify trends, and assist in strategic planning.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  1. Lead the budgeting process by coordinating with departmental heads to gather inputs and define financial targets.
  2. Develop financial forecasts and long-range plans based on market trends, internal performance, and strategic objectives.
  3. Monitor budget utilization, analyze deviations, and suggest corrective measures.

Team Leadership

  1. Supervise, guide, and mentor a team of financial analysts and junior finance staff.
  2. Allocate tasks, oversee workflow, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  3. Review team outputs for accuracy, clarity, and compliance with financial standards.
  4. Conduct training sessions to enhance team skills in financial analysis, software tools, and reporting.

Compliance & Audit Support

  1. Ensure adherence to accounting standards, internal controls, and company financial policies.
  2. Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits and ensure proper documentation.
  3. Monitor compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and statutory reporting.

Process Improvement

  1. Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, automate reporting, and optimize data management.
  2. Work with cross-functional teams to improve financial systems and introduce best practices.
  3. Implement financial tools, templates, and frameworks to standardize reporting.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  1. Collaborate with senior management on financial strategy, forecasting, and performance evaluation.
  2. Present financial reports, insights, and recommendations to executives and department leaders.
  3. Support business units with financial analysis for new initiatives, investments, and strategic decisions.

 

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

  1. Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  2. Advanced knowledge of Excel, financial software, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally), and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  3. Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and budgeting frameworks.
  4. Ability to analyze large datasets and derive meaningful insights.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  2. Master’s degree (MBA in Finance) or professional certifications such as CA, CMA, CFA, FRM are strong advantages.
  3. 3–7 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or corporate finance, including at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  4. Experience in financial planning & analysis (FP&A) functions is preferred.
